Libraries Make it Real
I’m working on a podcast interview with the author Robin Sloan, so it was a minor thrill to be browsing in my local public library and see his latest book, Moonbound, on the shelf. Robin is a self-described “computer kid” who knows his way around technology. He has a section on the homepage of his website that shows how many of his books are on hold at local libraries, waiting for eager readers.
You might call him a tech guy, and he certainly is, but he also loves making things in the physical world, like zines that he sends out in the mail and olive oil that he sells under the name Fat Gold.
It seems like a good balance to me.
